Courses

In the Fall, courses will be offered by WARC specifically for Wells College students. In addition to semi-intensive French and Wolof (4 credits each) students will choose among three subject courses (3 credits) Senegal Today, African Literature, and History of Islam all of these will be offered in French. To round out the semester, students will do either an independent study or service learning project (2 credits) which will be under the guidance of a professor and allow for reflection and discussion.

Spring Semester courses are offered by the University or WARC. Those more limited in their handling of French can enroll in courses offered by the English department (which pertain to African history, literature, politics and society) and the Institut de Français pour étrangers (IFE). Courses in music and the arts are offered only in French.
